Residential Limited Workmanship Warranty

At The Paver Seal, we take pride in providing high-quality workmanship and using professional-grade products designed to protect and enhance your hardscape surfaces. Our Residential Limited Workmanship Warranty is intended to give you confidence in the quality of our services while clearly explaining what is and is not covered.

For qualifying residential projects, The Paver Seal provides a 2-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty covering defects in our application of the sealer that result in:

• Peeling

• Flaking

• Chipping

• Cracking

• Loss of adhesion caused by improper application

If we determine that a covered workmanship defect has occurred during the warranty period, The Paver Seal may, at our sole discretion:

• Repair the affected area

• Reapply sealer where necessary

• Re-service the affected surface

• Provide a partial or full refund for the affected work

The method of resolution will be based on the nature and severity of the issue after inspection by The Paver Seal.

 

Our Right to Inspect and Repair

Customer satisfaction is one of our highest priorities. If you believe there is a problem with our workmanship, we ask that you contact us promptly so we have the opportunity to evaluate the issue.

By accepting our services, the customer agrees that The Paver Seal shall have the exclusive first opportunity to inspect, repair, or otherwise correct any claimed warranty issue before another contractor performs work on the affected surface.

If another contractor repairs, reseals, modifies, or alters the work before The Paver Seal has been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect it, this Limited Warranty may be void.

Refunds, if approved, are issued solely at the discretion of The Paver Seal after a complete inspection of the project.

 

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

While we stand behind our workmanship, many conditions affecting pavers and natural stone are caused by environmental factors, installation issues, or normal wear and tear that are outside of our control.

The following conditions are not covered under this Limited Workmanship Warranty.

 

3.1 Efflorescence

Efflorescence is a naturally occurring condition found in concrete and cement-based products. It appears as a white or light-colored powdery residue that develops when moisture carries naturally occurring minerals to the surface of the pavers.

Efflorescence:

• Is a normal characteristic of concrete products.

• Is not caused by the sealing process.

• Does not indicate a defect in the sealer or workmanship.

• May become more noticeable after pressure cleaning or periods of heavy moisture.

• Often occurs in shaded or covered areas where rain and sunlight cannot naturally remove mineral deposits.

Although sealing may help reduce the appearance or frequency of efflorescence, no sealer can completely prevent it.

Efflorescence is not covered under this Limited Warranty.

 

3.2 Paver Wear, Aging & Surface Deterioration

Concrete pavers naturally age over time. Exposure to Florida's climate, vehicle traffic, foot traffic, irrigation, and other environmental conditions will gradually affect the appearance and condition of the paver surface.

As pavers age, homeowners may notice:

• Fading or loss of color

• Exposure of the lighter aggregate beneath the surface

• Surface erosion

• Minor chipping or edge wear

• Changes in texture caused by normal weathering

These conditions are part of the natural aging process and are not caused by the sealing system.

Factors that may contribute to surface deterioration include, but are not limited to:

• Ultraviolet (UV) exposure

• Heavy vehicle traffic

• Standing water

• Poor drainage

• Downspouts or roof runoff

• Irrigation systems

• Pool splash-out and saltwater exposure

• Improper installation

• Natural erosion

• Freeze/thaw cycles (where applicable)

Because these conditions are beyond our control, The Paver Seal does not warranty the condition, structural integrity, or long-term deterioration of the pavers themselves.

 

3.3 Ants, Insects & Burrowing Pests

Joint sand helps stabilize pavers, but it cannot prevent ants, insects, worms, or other burrowing pests from naturally tunneling beneath or between the pavers.

These activities may result in:

• Small holes in the joints

• Minor sand displacement

• Localized sand loss

This is a naturally occurring condition and is not related to the quality of the sealing process.

Customers may use over-the-counter or professional insect treatments as needed. When used according to the manufacturer's instructions, these treatments generally will not damage properly cured sealer.

The Paver Seal does not warranty insect activity or sand displacement caused by burrowing pests.

 

3.4 Weeds, Mold, Mildew & Algae

As part of our preparation process, The Paver Seal thoroughly cleans the surface and applies treatments designed to reduce existing organic growth.

While sealing can significantly reduce moisture absorption and help slow future growth, no sealer can completely prevent weeds, mold, mildew, algae, moss, or airborne seeds from developing over time.

Organic growth is influenced by many conditions outside of our control, including:

• Shade

• Moisture

• Humidity

• Irrigation

• Landscaping

• Nearby vegetation

• Airborne spores and seeds

Routine maintenance is a normal part of owning any paved surface.

For best results we recommend:

Weeds

• Spot treat with white vinegar or a homeowner-safe weed killer.

Mold, Mildew & Algae

• Clean using a 50/50 solution of bleach and water or another manufacturer-approved exterior cleaner.

When used properly, these cleaning methods will not damage a fully cured sealed surface.

Because future organic growth is a natural environmental condition, The Paver Seal cannot guarantee that weeds, mold, mildew, or algae will not return and these conditions are not covered under this warranty.

 

3.5 Stain Removal & Existing Stains

Our technicians use professional-grade cleaning equipment, commercial stain removers, and proven restoration techniques to improve the appearance of your pavers.

However, some stains permanently penetrate the paver surface and cannot be completely removed without causing damage to the pavers themselves.

Examples include:

• Oil stains

• Rust stains

• Paint

• Grease

• Tire rubber

• Fertilizer staining

• Tree sap

• Mineral deposits

• Deep organic staining

Customers understand that stain removal services are based on the time, labor, and products required—not on achieving complete removal.

Although sealing makes the surface more resistant to future staining, no sealer is completely stain-proof.

For this reason:

• Complete stain removal cannot be guaranteed.

• Some discoloration may remain visible after cleaning.

• New stains occurring after service are considered normal maintenance items.

Existing stains, permanent discoloration, and future staining are not covered under this Limited Warranty.

 

3.6 Joint Sand

Joint sand plays an important role in helping stabilize pavers and reducing movement between individual stones.

Over time, some sand loss is completely normal due to weather, traffic, irrigation, and natural settling.

Joint sand may gradually erode because of:

• Heavy rainfall

• Roof runoff

• Sprinkler systems

• Vehicle traffic

• Pressure washing

• Improper drainage

• Wide joints between pavers

• Base movement

• Previous polymeric sand installations

• Improper edge restraints

Minor sand loss should be expected as part of normal ownership and does not indicate a failure of the sealing system.

If additional joint sand is needed in the future, The Paver Seal offers maintenance and sand replenishment services for an additional charge.

Sand loss resulting from environmental conditions, drainage issues, structural movement, irrigation, pressure washing, or previous installation conditions is not covered under this Limited Warranty.

 

3.7 Whitening, Cloudiness & Moisture

The Paver Seal uses premium breathable sealers designed to allow moisture vapor to escape from the paver system. However, moisture-related discoloration may still occur due to conditions beyond our control.

Whitening, haziness, or a cloudy appearance may develop if:

• A previous sealer remains on the surface.

• Moisture is trapped beneath the pavers.

• Pavers were installed over a concrete slab.

• Drainage beneath the paver system is inadequate.

• Irrigation or excessive water continually saturates the area.

• Ground moisture migrates upward through the pavers.

These conditions originate beneath or within the paver system and are not caused by the workmanship or performance of the new sealer.

Correcting these issues typically requires addressing the underlying drainage or moisture source rather than replacing the sealer.

The Paver Seal does not warranty whitening, cloudiness, or discoloration caused by trapped moisture, previous sealers, drainage issues, or installation conditions.

 

3.8 Strip & Seal Projects

Removing old sealer is one of the most labor-intensive services we perform. Because every existing coating is different, no stripping project can be guaranteed to remove every trace of the previous sealer.

Results depend on several factors, including:

• The type of sealer previously applied.

• The number of coats on the surface.

• The age of the existing coating.

• Weather exposure.

• How deeply the previous coating has bonded to the pavers.

While our goal is to remove as much of the existing coating as reasonably possible, complete removal is not always achievable without risking damage to the paver surface.

Customers understand that strip and seal services are priced based on the labor, equipment, chemicals, and expertise required—not on achieving a guaranteed percentage of removal.

To protect nearby painted surfaces, trim, and structures, a small safety buffer may be left around walls and other delicate areas where stripping chemicals could cause damage.

Because every project is different, The Paver Seal does not guarantee complete removal of existing sealers, coatings, paint, or other surface treatments.

 

3.9 Appearance, Sheen & Color Enhancement

Every paver and natural stone surface is unique.

The final appearance after sealing depends on many variables, including:

• Age of the pavers

• Existing condition

• Surface porosity

• Original color

• Previous maintenance

• Exposure to sunlight

• Type of material being sealed

Some surfaces naturally absorb more sealer than others, while lighter-colored pavers generally show less color enhancement than darker materials.

Although our sealing process is designed to enhance the beauty of your hardscape, The Paver Seal cannot guarantee:

• A specific level of gloss or shine

• A particular "wet look"

• A certain depth of color enhancement

• Uniform appearance across every individual paver

• The length of time aesthetic enhancement will remain unchanged

Natural variation is expected and should not be considered a workmanship defect.

Additional gloss-enhancing options may be available for certain projects at an additional cost.

 

3.10 Slip Resistance

Some sealers can slightly reduce the natural texture of concrete and certain natural stone surfaces.

For projects where additional traction is desired, The Paver Seal may apply an anti-slip additive as part of the sealing process.

While anti-slip additives improve traction, they:

• Naturally wear over time.

• Are affected by foot traffic and weather.

• May require future maintenance or reapplication.

No sealer can completely eliminate the possibility of slips or falls, particularly when surfaces are wet.

Homeowners should always use caution around:

• Pool decks

• Walkways

• Steps

• Driveways

• Travertine

• Marble

• Smooth decorative concrete

 

The Paver Seal is not responsible for injuries resulting from slips, falls, improper footwear, standing water, algae growth, or misuse of the surface.

 

3.11 Pool Cleaning & Debris

During the cleaning and sealing process, every reasonable effort is made to minimize debris entering nearby swimming pools and water features.

Despite our precautions, some sand, dust, leaves, or cleaning residue may enter the pool during the project.

Following completion of the work, homeowners should:

• Clean pool skimmer baskets.

• Rinse or backwash filters as needed.

• Operate the pool vacuum according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

• Wait at least 24 hours before scheduling routine pool service.

These minor cleaning tasks are considered normal homeowner maintenance following exterior restoration work.

The Paver Seal is not responsible for routine pool cleaning, filter maintenance, or debris that naturally enters the pool during the cleaning and sealing process.

 

3.12 Tire Marks & Rubber Transfer

Modern vehicle tires contain compounds known as plasticizers that may transfer to sealed surfaces under certain conditions. This can result in black or dark-colored tire marks, particularly on lighter-colored pavers.

Tire marks are more likely to occur when:

• Turning the steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary

• Making sharp turns

• Rapid acceleration or braking

• Parking heavy vehicles for extended periods

• Using zero-turn mowers or equipment with soft rubber tires

To help minimize tire marking after your project is completed, we recommend the following during the first 10 dayswhile the sealer reaches full cure:

• Avoid turning the steering wheel while stopped.

• Avoid hard acceleration or sudden braking.

• Do not pivot tires in place.

• Minimize unnecessary vehicle traffic whenever possible.

Rubber transfer is considered normal wear and is not an indication of sealer failure.

The Paver Seal does not warranty tire marks, rubber transfer, or discoloration caused by vehicle or equipment tires.

 

3.13 Landscaping, Plants & Irrigation

Protecting your landscaping is an important part of every project. Our technicians take reasonable precautions to minimize the impact of our cleaning solutions on surrounding grass, plants, shrubs, and decorative landscaping.

Despite these precautions, some sensitive plants may temporarily show signs of stress after cleaning, including:

• Browning leaves

• Wilting

• Leaf drop

• Minor discoloration

Most healthy plants recover naturally with proper watering over the following days or weeks.

If you notice signs of plant stress after service, we recommend:

• Watering affected plants thoroughly for approximately 7–10 days.

• Removing damaged leaves only after new growth appears.

• Contacting The Paver Seal if you have any concerns.

Customers are responsible for notifying us before service of any delicate, newly planted, rare, or chemically sensitive vegetation requiring special protection.

Likewise, irrigation systems that overspray onto sealed surfaces may contribute to mineral buildup, staining, premature wear, or joint sand erosion over time.

The Paver Seal is not responsible for damage caused by irrigation systems, pre-existing plant health conditions, or normal plant sensitivity to exterior cleaning products when industry-standard application methods are followed.

 

3.14 Pool Cages, House Washing & Exterior Cleaning

Our exterior cleaning services utilize professional low-pressure soft washing methods specifically designed to remove organic growth while helping protect your property's exterior surfaces.

Soft washing effectively removes:

• Mold

• Mildew

• Algae

• Dirt

• Organic staining

However, soft washing is not intended to correct issues unrelated to biological growth.

The following items are not included unless specifically listed in your estimate:

• Oxidation removal

• Paint restoration

• Screen replacement

• Existing torn or damaged screens

• Gutter brightening

• Window detailing

• Hard water stain removal

• Construction debris

• Paint overspray removal

Customers understand that older pool screens weakened by age, UV exposure, storms, or existing algae damage may tear during normal cleaning.

Likewise, pre-existing oxidation on aluminum pool cages, gutters, soffits, or fascia cannot be removed through standard soft washing alone.

The Paver Seal is not responsible for pre-existing oxidation, weakened screens, deteriorated building materials, or conditions unrelated to normal organic growth removal.

 

3.15 Paver Repairs, Re-Leveling & Structural Corrections

Some projects require pavers to be lifted, re-leveled, reset, or repaired before cleaning and sealing can begin. These services improve the appearance and functionality of the surface but cannot permanently correct problems originating beneath the paver system.

Repair services may include:

• Re-leveling uneven pavers

• Resetting loose pavers

• Correcting trip hazards

• Repairing small settling areas

• Addressing isolated drainage concerns

• Replacing damaged pavers provided by the customer or purchased separately

While these repairs are performed using industry-accepted methods, they should be considered corrective—not permanent structural solutions.

Many paver movement issues are caused by conditions outside our control, including:

• Inadequate base installation

• Soil settlement

• Erosion

• Tree roots

• Poor drainage

• Vehicle loading

• Failing edge restraints

• Underground utility work

• Natural ground movement

Because these underlying conditions may continue long after repairs are completed, The Paver Seal cannot guarantee that repaired areas will remain level indefinitely.

Future settling, shifting, drainage changes, or structural movement are considered normal site conditions and are not related to the quality of the sealing process.

Any future repairs required due to continued movement will be quoted as a separate service.

Paver repairs, re-leveling, lifting, resetting, structural corrections, drainage issues, and future settlement are not covered under this Limited Warranty.

 

3.16 Acts of Nature & Conditions Beyond Our Control

The performance and appearance of any sealed surface can be affected by circumstances beyond our control.

This Limited Warranty does not cover damage or deterioration resulting from:

• Hurricanes

• Tropical storms

• Flooding

• Lightning

• Hail

• Tornadoes

• High winds

• Fire

• Earth movement

• Excessive rainfall

• Standing water

• Drought

• Freeze/thaw conditions

• Falling trees or limbs

• Construction activity

• Vehicle accidents

• Vandalism

• Any other event commonly considered an "Act of God"

These events are outside the control of The Paver Seal and are not considered workmanship defects.

Damage caused by natural disasters, severe weather, accidents, or other events beyond our reasonable control is not covered under this Limited Warranty.

 

4. What Will Void Your Warranty

This Limited Workmanship Warranty is provided only when the sealed surface is properly cared for after installation.

The warranty may be void if any of the following occur:

• The sealed surface is pressure washed.

• Additional sealers, coatings, paints, or chemical treatments are applied by anyone other than The Paver Seal.

• Another contractor performs work on the sealed area without prior written approval from The Paver Seal.

• Harsh chemicals, acids, degreasers, or abrasive cleaning products are used on the surface.

• Damage occurs from misuse, abuse, negligence, or lack of maintenance.

• Heavy equipment, construction materials, dumpsters, or machinery are placed on the sealed surface and cause damage.

• Vehicles or equipment leak oil, hydraulic fluid, fuel, or other contaminants that stain the pavers.

• Furniture, grills, planters, trailers, or other heavy objects are dragged across the sealed surface.

• Full payment for services is not received according to the agreed terms.

• Warranty claims are not reported within a reasonable timeframe after the issue is discovered.

• The homeowner refuses The Paver Seal the opportunity to inspect and correct the issue before hiring another contractor.

The Paver Seal reserves the right to deny warranty coverage if any of the above conditions have contributed to the claimed issue.

 

5. Maintaining Your Warranty

Like any exterior surface, professionally sealed pavers require routine maintenance to continue looking their best.

Following these simple recommendations will help maximize the life of your investment.

Do Not Pressure Wash

Pressure washing can:

• Damage the protective sealer.

• Remove joint sand.

• Shorten the life of the sealed surface.

• Increase the likelihood of weeds and erosion.

If your pavers require cleaning, contact The Paver Seal for the proper maintenance procedure.

 

Clean Spills Promptly

Although your pavers are protected, they are not stain-proof.

Oil, grease, fertilizer, rust, paint, and similar substances should be cleaned as soon as possible to minimize the chance of permanent staining.

 

Perform Routine Cleaning

Occasionally rinse your pavers using a standard garden hose or a low-pressure rinse to remove dirt and debris.

If mold or algae begin to develop, use a mild cleaning solution approved for sealed surfaces or contact The Paver Seal for maintenance recommendations.

 

Annual Maintenance

Florida's climate is extremely demanding on exterior surfaces.

Sunlight, rain, traffic, irrigation, and pool chemicals gradually wear away the protective coating over time.

To help preserve both appearance and protection, The Paver Seal recommends scheduling a maintenance inspection approximately 12–18 months after your original service.

Maintenance services may include:

• Professional cleaning

• Joint sand touch-up

• Minor repairs

• Reapplication of sealer where needed

Routine maintenance helps maximize the life of your investment and keeps your pavers looking their best for years to come.

 

6. Warranty Transfer

This Limited Workmanship Warranty applies only to the original customer and the original property where the work was performed.

It is non-transferable and does not extend to future property owners unless otherwise agreed to in writing by The Paver Seal.

 

7. Limitation of Liability

The Paver Seal's responsibility under this Limited Workmanship Warranty is limited solely to the repair, replacement, or re-service of covered workmanship defects.

Under no circumstances shall The Paver Seal be responsible for:

• Incidental damages

• Consequential damages

• Loss of property value

• Loss of use

• Personal inconvenience

• Landscaping costs

• Pool maintenance costs

• Hotel accommodations

• Lost income

• Attorney's fees

• Any damages exceeding the original amount paid for the affected service

This warranty provides the exclusive remedies available for workmanship-related claims.

 

8. Customer Acknowledgment

By accepting service from The Paver Seal, the customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted the terms of this Residential Limited Workmanship Warranty.

The customer further understands that exterior hardscape surfaces are constantly exposed to weather, sunlight, moisture, traffic, and other environmental conditions that naturally affect their appearance over time.

No warranty can eliminate the effects of normal aging or conditions beyond human control.
